The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Costa Rican Red Cross and the Fire Department participated in the capture of a giant crocodile of 3.5 meters which for the last two days was spotted by tourists on the beach in Jaco.
Miguel Mora, an officer from the Garabito Municipal Police Department, said that at about 10:30 am on Monday they caught crocodile, and then transferred it to the Carara National Park where it will be evaluated by a biologist. After that the authorities will move the reptile to the Atlantic area.
Garabito mayor, Marvin Elizondo said that this is an unusual affair that rarely happens on the beaches of the canton. Elizondo said it’s only the second reported case in a period of at least five years
On Saturday and Sunday it was possible to observe the animal prowling the coast, providing quite a show for those who visited the beach.
