The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Chamber of Exporters for Costa Rica (Cadexco) released a report with the five keys for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to join or expand their export market and succeed.
Alberto Soto, director of the board of Cadexco, said that first you should set aside fear and prepare your entire organization to sell to international markets, either a good or a service, and train your staff to understand what this requires.
The second major recommendation is to approach the Chambers of Commerce, the Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer) and other institutions to make use of all the tools that they have and implement them.
The third point is to stay educated on how to export, in the means of payment and international regulations. “You have to manufacture products with high added value and ensure that the packaging and labels are good,” Soto said.
“Also, the consumer appreciates a good image and presentation, whatever their culture, whatever their purchasing power,” he said.
The fourth pointer is that you must find the ideal customer niche, determine the cost structure and develop market research.
A final word of advice is to seek a global logistics partner so that the products are always at your destination on time and there are people responsible for market analysis. (Crhoy)
