The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – This is the story of Rafael Calderón, driver of bus-route San Jose Acosta, who gave a lesson in civility and love for this country rarely seen.
According to social media accounts, at 6:00 pm on election day, the driver stopped the bus up to Tarbaca.
He rose from his seat, he turned to the passengers in an invitation that caused surprise: “It may seem a little silly, but it’s almost six but let’s sing the National Anthem. We live in a privileged country, because not many people have the joy of singing”.
All the people stood up, sang the National Anthem with the radio on the bus and at the end an elderly gentleman who was behind shouted ‘Viva Costa Rica’, and all applauded.
According to firsthand accounts, it was a unique experience that they will never forget because it was so rare and inspirational.
