Mondaisa, a Costa Rican tea company, has expanded its production plant and had its grand opening Thursday afternoon.
The company was founded in 1985 and stated as a small organic herb farm very close to the Poas Volcano in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Now, 30 years later, the tea producer has just invested $2 million into the expansion. This new plant will require 25 additional employees immediately, another 10 over the course of this year and 15 more in 2016, said Miguel Miranda, president and CEO of the company.
Currently, Mondaisa has 110 employees at its production plant, located in San Antonio de Escazú.
The company exports its products to more than 50 distributors throughout Central America, as well as the east coast of the United States and they are preparing to enter Colombia and Peru.
