The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The authorities in Costa Rica have seized at least five tons of marijuana this year, valued at more than $20 million, said the Ministry of Public Security.
The drugs, seized by officers of the National Guard, came from Jamaica and were headed to Limon.
Official data indicates that the Coast Guard, in total, has seized 18 ships.
Also, they have arrested 44 people of different nationalities such as Jamaicans, Colombians, Costa Ricans and Nicaraguans for trafficking the compressed marijuana.
In 2012, Costa Rica seized a total of 5.7 tons of marijuana. (EFE)
