The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The Costa Rica Ministry of Public Security reported that in 2014 they were able to dismantle 123 criminal organizations involved in national and international drug trafficking.
Of all the organizations broken up by agents of the Drug Control Police from January 2014 to today, they managed to remove 100 dedicated to local trafficking and 23 from international rings, the ministry said in a press release.
According to authorities, these proactive results were obtained after officers conducted a series of investigations, many of which came from citizen complaints.
In 2013, the Ministry of Security managed to dismantle 116 groups, of which 28 were international and 88 local traffickers. (ACAN-EFE)
