    Costa Rica Hotel Occupancy Over 85% this Season

    Costa Rica hotels located throughout Costa Rica slowly start running out of space as it December 31st approaches. This year, Costa Ricans and tourists have chosen the beach and the mountains national spend the last day of the year, making accommodation businesses very happy.

    Costa Rica hotel prices range from $90 per night up to $200.

    The Costa Rican Chamber of Hotels said expectations for this season occupancy will be around to 86%. The main destination for Costa Ricans foreign tourists is the beach, and San Jose Costa Rica is the second most popular destination.

    The high season begins in late November and runs through April in Costa Rica. For this year, the country expects a visit of 2.3 million tourists in total, which means an increase of 6.6% compared to 2011 and each of these visitors spend on average $ 100 per day, according to statistics from Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).

    San Jose hotels have also been seeing a significant surge in bookings this high season.
