Costa Rica’s government today celebrated the production of the Nobel Peace Prize by the European Union (EU) and stated that it is a well deserved award.
“Costa Rica, a peaceful country that abolished its armed forces for over 60 years and is a faithful defender of human rights and international law, adds to the joy of the EU which has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize” , the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
For Costa Rican Foreign Minister, “the deserved award ennobles the cause of peace and the ongoing search for civilized coexistence among nations in democracy and respect for human rights.”
Costa Rica greeted the 27 countries making up the EU “for her efforts over 60 years of peace and reconciliation that has taken building more harmonious.”
“Costa Rica, which calls with equal zeal by the values of peace, peaceful coexistence among nations, democracy, human rights and international law as a means of resolving conflicts, celebrated with great satisfaction the award of the Nobel Prize Peace to the European Union, “the official statement.
