The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Authorities in Colombia and Costa Rica managed in a joint operation and seized 560 kilos of cocaine, Colombian police said.
In a press statement said that the seizure occurred at a point known as Tortuguero, in the province of Limon, Costa Rica.
In the operation, which was also supported by the Drug Enforcement Agency DEA, captured Colombian Adalberto César Pérez Jiménez Bird.
The drug was found in a boat inside which had “27 bundles wrapped in plastic underwent Preliminary Identification Test Approved, Pipher, testing positive for cocaine hydrochloride with a net weight of 560 kilos,” said the statement.
According to police, apparently the cargo belonged to Los Urabeños, a group dedicated mainly to drug trafficking and paramilitary.
It is presumed that the drug, worth about $ 10 million, was destined for the United States. AP
