    China Costa Rica Free trade Agreements and bi-lateral relations continue at an exponential rate and continues with its most recent agreement signing with Ecuador.

    Ecuador and China signed seven agreements on cooperation, trade and security, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Andean nation.

    The agreements were signed on Friday September 28 in meetings with the Trade Minister of the Republic of China, Chen Deming.

    Also China signed agreements with the private sector to purchase Ecuadorian seafood, cocoa and bananas in the amount of $ 33 million, and the delegation of the Republic pledged to expedite processes that facilitate the entry of products such as mango, lemon pineapple pitaya, among others.

    Moreover, the Chinese authorities expressed his country’s commitment to solve problems facing the Ecuadorian banana market in phytosanitary measures and for that the Quality Agency of the Republic of China (AQSIQ) visited Ecuador from 13 to 26 October next.

    The Foreign Ministry reported that in addition, it signed a technical and economic cooperation between the two countries, and an exchange of letters on the donation of two container scanning equipment.

    It was also agreed that, through the Eximbank, Ecuador will be given “a concessional credit line” for about $ 80 million for the expansion of Simon Bolivar Avenue en route to the new airport in Quito.

    In addition, Ministers of State of the two countries agreed to launch a feasibility study of bilateral trade in order to begin a process of negotiating a trade agreement, which will increase Ecuador’s exports to China and attract investment to the country for strategic projects.
