[TCRN] – The Central American Court of Justice (CCJ) called the Costa Rica Nicaragua border road “high risk and environmental hazard” and that the south bank border road of the river San Juan, breaches Nicaragua‘s sovereignty.
At a press conference in Managua, Regional Court President, Nicaraguan Carlos Guerra, condemned Costa Rica for ignoring the powers of the Court and for allegedly “irresponsible and related environmental damage” on the San Juan river border.
The six judge panel of the Central American Court considered the 160 km road on Costa Rica side of the river to be affecting the biological corridor in the region, wildlife biodiversity, flora and fauna.
