    Bridgestone Shared Services Generates 120 New Job Positions

    Costa Rica employment opportunities continue to rise as Bridgestone continues to expand its footprint in Costa Rica. After long and careful analysis Costa Rica was selected as the location for Bridgestone’s new operation.

    Bridgestone is the second advanced manufacturing company in Costa Rica with both a production center and services operation.

    At least seven Latin American countries will be carried out from Bridgestone´s Shared Services operation in Costa Rica.

    President Laura Chinchilla said, “Bridgestone´s decision in a vote of confidence for Costa Rica. It proofs that we are doing things right; we are consolidating our economic stability, improving our competitiveness, and preparing our young talent”.

    The new Shared Services operations team will create employment for 120 professionals in finance.

    These new service center operations will standardize and improve its finance operations, by centralizing accounting processes they will garner a better return in resource availability.

    This is a new source of foreign direct investment for Costa Rica. Foreign direct investment in Costa Rica increased to a record $2.1 billion in 2011. Growth is projected at double the rate of the U.S. economy.

    Production has been building momentum, and the Central Bank has Costa Rica on target for 4 percent economic growth in 2012. This will be less than the 4.2 percent of 2011, but more than the institution projected at the start of the year, and Costa Rica growing two times the recently revised economic growth projection of 2 percent for the United States.
