Latin America News – The Newspaper Association of Brazil (ANJ), which reports 90% of the daily news in Brazil, decided to leave the Google News service and prohibit Google to publish to news search partners.
The 154 members of the ANJ supported the decision, after Google refused to pay newspapers to use the information.
This was announced by the head of the organization, Carlos Fernando Lindenberg Neto, in an interview with the Institute Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, the University of Texas.
“Google News has not helped us increase the audience of the newspapers… reducing the potential for netizens go to the link to read the full story of our day,” said Lindenberg Neto.
In December 2010, the ANJ and Google had agreed that the internet search show only one line of each note to attract the reader’s curiosity and take it after the original publication of the newspaper.
