You have to walk about 6 kms to reach the point of view and 2 kms more if you want to reach the lava flows. During the tour, it is beautiful to see the Arenal Lagoon, the largest artificial reservoir in Costa Rica, you can also hear and observe birds and other mammals.
The park has toilets and parks very friendly. You also find a small souvenir shop and Park information. The first eruptions of the volcano began in 1968. Previously, it was only known as Cerro Arenal until when there was a tremendous surprise for the inhabitants of that community.
