The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Vacationers heading to the beaches of the north and south Pacific coast this weekend will be able to use the reversible lane on Route 27 from the toll booth at Brasil de Mora until the Pozón toll from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The director of the Traffic Police, Mario Calderon, explained that reversibility implies that the route may not be used for travel going towards San José between 8:00 a.m. and noon.

Calderon explained that the reversible lane that enables the mass exodus of tourists to the Pacific coast to be a little more fluid, but that will not stop dams in some sections of the highway where the street is narrow and excess cars paralyze traffic, so he is asking for drivers to be patient.

If you will be traveling from the Puntarenas area to San José between 8 a.m. and noon this weekend, you must do so through alternate routes:

    • Route 3 by the Monte del Aguacate
    • Route 1 Cambronero
    • Highway 239 that connects Orotina, Turrubares, Pursical and Ciudad Colón.

To summarize, Route 27 will have the reversible lane on Saturday and Sunday (December 27 and 28) and on January 3 and 4 it will be reversed back towards San Jose to facilitate vacationers on their return to the Greater Metropolitan Area. (Amelia Rueda)
