The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – For the sixth consecutive year, a 33 meter-high Christmas tree will be located in the Parque Metropolitano La Sabana, welcoming Christmas in Costa Rica on Sunday, November 23.
In previous years the tree was near the National Gymnasium, however, since this tree is the highest they’ve ever displayed, they had to change the location, explained the manager of Public Affairs and Communications at Coca Cola, Gustavo Guillen. Trees were closer to 20 meters the last five years.
This activity is done in conjunction with the City of San José and marks the beginning of the holiday season in the capital..
The Tree is one of the largest in Central America, with a diameter of 13 meters and a three meter star at the top.
The official lighting of the tree will be preceded by a live music. The event is free for all and will begin at 5 pm. (Amelia Rueda)
