    Expo Fair Tilaran 2011 starts today! This two week festival takes place in Tilaran, a town known for ecotourism, sustainable development, culture, and the spectacular Arenal Lake and Volcano. This festival is going to be a great time and we have translated the schedule of events into English below. The Costa Rica News hopes to see you there!

    March 31 Thursday

    5 am – Alegre Diana

    6 am – Bombetas Tronadoras

    3 pm – Animal Exhibition

    6 pm – Toros! (Costa Rica’s version of bull-fighting: putting a well-trained bull into a ring full of people waiting to be trampled. The bull is not harmed in this event, only the people! For a detailed account, check out this description of Costa Rica bullfighting)

    April 1 Friday

    6 pm – Horse Parade, Concert with Jocjinior (free)

    40 Grados presentation

    7 pm – Fireworks

    April 2 Saturday

    4 pm – Toros Repretel (bulls)

    9 pm – Dance (organized by 88.3 Radio Tilaran. Special presentation by Znatra.)

    April 3 Sunday

    9 am – Recreational mountain biking

    11 am – Children’s Festival (free)

    2 pm – Canine Exhibition

    4 pm – Toros (bulls)

    8 pm – Comedians

    April 4 Monday

    5 pm – Toros (bulls) (free)

    April 6 Wednesday

    5 pm – Reception of cattle for the fair

    April 7 Thursday

    2 pm – Inauguration of Bulls Exhibition

    6 pm – Toros (bulls) (free)

    April 8 Friday

    2 pm – Horse Exhibition

    6 pm – Concert with Mito Urbano (free)

    Presentation by Big Magic

    9 pm – Dance with Grupo Expresso

    April 10 Sunday

    1 pm – Tilaran 2011 Horse Parade

    Concert with Mari Angel and Marko Jara

    7 pm – Toros (bulls)

    April 11 Monday

    5 pm – Toros (bulls)

    Bulls of los Amigos de la Altura and Grupo de la Monta La Sub-20
