The generosity of the Costa Rican community has once again shown itself. The national campaign to aid those affected by the Haitian earthquakes has received 10 tons of food, medicine, water and over $430,000 via the Red Cross of Costa Rica. The goods were collected and packaged by the national youth commission and 117 other groups in the country.

The money will go directly to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, according to Miguel Carmona, president of Costa Rica’s Red Cross.
