The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The new national airline, Air Costa Rica, will be certified to begin operations in the country in the first half of 2015, as designated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

According to the director of that entity, Alvaro Vargas, the necessary operating permits are being obtained and progressing well. The company is also in the process of approving documents, manuals and procedures.

In addition, they have a group of pilots being trained in Miami, USA, and mechanics preparing for the opening in Panama, said Vargas.

The operation site and training center have been reviewed and approved by Civil Aviation.

The initial destinations of the new Costa Rican airline will be Panama City, Managua, Nicaragua, and Miami.
