The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – An earthquake with a magnitude 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded yesterday in the southern part of Costa Rica.
The Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (Ovsicori) reported that the quake occurred at 11:00 local time (17:00 GMT) with the epicenter 7 kilometers to the south of the community of Golfito, Puntarenas province, near the border with Panama.
The report indicates the quake originated 27 kilometers deep and was caused by the subduction of Earth’s plates.
The quake was felt by locals in the southern zone of Costa Rica, but did not cause any damage to property or people. (EFE)
