After spending time on creating some designs on paper, Priscilla Aguirre devised a way to sell unique items for tourists on postcards, pictures or even calendars.

The initiative came after she studied the souvenirs sold in the country, which did not represent the whole culture and landscapes of Costa Rica.

Creating different sketches in which they can portray the national daily life is one of the challenges for the graphic designer.

After making a few products, she now has special lines such as those dedicated to Father’s Day or Mother’s Day, for which aprons or commemorative cups are made.

“Reflecting on how we live in urban areas is what I enjoy. I do the drawings and they are completely original, always incorporating something representative of our country,” Aguirre said.

The company focuses both tourists who visit Costa Rica and those living nationally who want to bring some memories to people outside the country.

The company already sells in the two shops at airports Britt Daniel Oduber and Juan Santamaria, as well as 25 other locations, most souvenir shops.

Specific local locations can be found on the official site http://www.holalolashop.com, where you can also purchase the items.

Aguirre also has a physical store located in Los Yoses on the boulevard.

“We produce gifts easy to carry in travel bags such as postcards of the places that tourists visited or birds and animals or even recipes to share, or posters to hang on the refrigerator,” said Aguirre.

HolaLola is one of the projects that will be in the Fair Our Essence that will bring together SMEs to showcase their products to the general public and expand their businesses with potential buyers.
