The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Some 48 multinational companies will offer 3,800 jobs in the XI Bilingual Job Fair in Costa Rica from February 20 to February 22.
The Costa Rican Coalition for Development Initiatives (CINDE), the organizer of the event, said Monday at a press conference that next month they are only looking for individuals who are proficient in a second language. The job fair will be held at the Antigua Aduana in the capital.
“About 48 companies are looking to fulfill positions of great importance to Costa Rica. The fair has become a direct and effective channel between employers wanting to recruit new members for their team and individuals who want to pursue new opportunities,” said the CEO of CINDE, Jorge Sequeira.
These companies will create about 3,800 positions in various professional and technical areas such as purchasing, procurement, quality, engineering, accounting, accounts payable, human resources, audit, finance, treasury, web development, software development, and maintenance, among others.
The general manager of the US software company VMware, Ariel Vargas, said that the talent and the influx of people interested in starting a serious career is what makes the job fair an appealing opportunity for them.
This year’s event will feature a pre-registration system that streamlines information between the candidates and companies.
Some of the participating companies include Baxter International (pharmaceuticals), Citibank, and Dell, in addition to many others.
Other than English and Spanish, professionals who can speak Portuguese, French, Italian, German or Mandarin are in high demand. (ACAN-EFE)
