The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – After six workshops in different parts of the country, on Wednesday the government of Costa Rica officially announced the National Ocean Policy
The design and development began in April of this year and includes strategies for the management of coastal and marine resources. It also integrates plans for fisheries and aquaculture development, as well as sustainable tourism.
Its purpose is to promote a comprehensive view for the year 2028, with a national development strategy that includes a precise legal framework to facilitate coastal management and encourage safety in marine areas.
This policy is valid for 15 years, with regular reviews every five years to make changes based on the results.
