    Three Tico Nominees Making History at the Latin Grammys in November

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), Costa Rican singer Debi Nova, and Danilo Montero have all been nominated for Latin Grammy music awards, which is a first in Grammy history.

    Jorge Castro, a founding member of the organization confirmed the news, revealed in the early hours of Wednesday in Los Angeles, United States.

    “It was through a video. Fully confirmed, I think this is the first time we have this many Tico Grammy nominees in 15 years, in different categories,” said Castro.

    The NSO will be in the Best Classical Album category for their production Music Composers Costarricenses Vol.1 created by Castro himself.  Regarding the nomination he added. “As the 15th anniversary of the Latin Grammy, it’s amazing to see the process and the evolution of Latin music. The nomination of NSO is super prestigious and it is very important for the country,” he added.

    Debi Nova is a nominee for Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album and Danilo Montero will compete in the Christian Music category.

    The Latin Grammy awards will take place on November 20 in Las Vegas, however the night before a tribute will take place for Joan Manuel Serrat, as person of the year for his career.
