    Eight People Involved in an International Drug-Running Ring Were Arrested by Costa Rica Police

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – This morning the Drug Control Police of Costa Rica arrested eight members of a gang engaged in international drug-running and money laundering.

    Authorities conducted 11 raids throughout the Central Valley in areas such as Heredia, Moravia and Coronado. The group’s leaders, Fonseca Vega and his son-in-law, Herrera Castro, were from San Isidro and Coronado respectively.

    Deputy Minister of Security María Fullmen reported that they have been conducting this investigation since 2013 for  group. Their cartel worked through the Peñas Blancas border crossing move the drugs through Guatemala and Honduras.

    Since the investigation began, police have seized six vehicles, $442,281, and over 870 kilos of cocaine from the alleged drug-running gang.
