The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Thirty Costa Rican companies seeking to attract more European tourists are participating in the World Travel Market London 2013, which will be held until Thursday, official sources said today.
Costa Rican Companies attending the event are travel agencies, car rentals, tour operators, and hotels, among others, said the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).
“This international exhibition reflects the great promotional opportunity, competitiveness and positioning of products and services that will reach the tourism industry worldwide,” said marketing director of ICT, Ireth Rodriguez.
The ICT said that Europe is one of the priority markets for Costa Rica and the show in London is the third largest in the world, so it is expected to be able to establish business enterprises and attract more tourists.
Costa Rican companies will hold meetings with wholesalers from around the world will have access to measurements of tourism trends, reactions of the international press, and cooperative campaigns to negotiate with other firms listed as channels of promoting and attracting tourists.
ICT data indicates that of the 2.1 million tourists who came to Costa Rica in 2012, a total of 284,996 came from Europe.
The Europeans who most visited Costa Rica in 2012 were the Germans with a figure of 50,938, followed by Spain with 47,505, 38,139 from France and 31,930 Englishmen, among other nations. (EFE)
