The Costa Rica News (TCRN) -Costa Rica’s government expressed solidarity with Nicaragua after the accident last Thursday in which a military helicopter crashed with 10 passengers on board, and according to Nicaraguan authorities. Chances of survivors being found alive are slim.

The Costa Rican Foreign Ministry said in a statement “the deep feelings of solidarity with the people and government” of Nicaragua as well as the “greatest respect for the pain and grief that caused this tragedy.”

“Costa Rica in addition to the solidarity expresses condolences to the families of the victims, the people and the authorities of the Republic of Nicaragua” and “expresses the firm hope that the people of Nicaragua will overcome with this painful circumstances” the Foreign Ministry said.

Nicaragua authorities conducting the search efforts of the occupants of the aircraft have said it is unlikely they will find any of the 10 occupants of the helicopter alive. The helecopter crashed Thursday at the northwest end of Lake Managua, in the province of Leon, 57 kilometers northwest of Managua.

Rescuers on Friday found “parts of human remains” of some occupants, and are not yet identified.
