The study from Deloitte for the fourth quarter 2012 consulted 132 major companies currently with operations in Costa Rica and revealed that over 57 % disapproved of this administration management of the country.
Just over 31% said were neutral, neither approving nor disapproving and just over 10% approved of the governments performance.
This administration has been mired in controversial management issues throughout its term. The public has, 2011 saw the third highest number of protests since 1995, and this is continuing, even last week large protests continued, teachers, taxi services, public transportation, the media with the Gag Law, environmentalists regarding GMOs.
Being Costa Rica’s first female president, Laura Chinchilla’s was hailed as Costa Rica’s Obama and while the administration has made headway in many regards, especially Direct Foreign Investment and industry growth there is general dissatisfaction with both the public and private sectors.
