The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – International experts will discuss the situation in Costa Rica and the challenges of the banana industry in the Fifth International Congress of Bananas, which will be held from February 24 to 27.
The event, organized by the (corbona) National Banana Corporation, will bring together some 600 participants from different countries, who will discuss topics such as scientific research, banana policy, environmental management, logistics, marketing, social responsibility and innovation.
Of the 600 attendees there are a total of 30 experts who will discuss issues about the impact of climate change on global food, consumer trends banana challenges in the form of marketing, and nanotechnology in agriculture.
In addition, they will discuss the challenges of agriculture to the global economy, alternative disease management, soil patterns, trends banana transport, the role of supermarkets in the value chain, mineral nutrition of bananas and controlling fruit diseases.
Among the exhibitors are Gert Kema (Dutch), Angelique D’Hont (French), Luc de Lapeyre and Christian Chabrier, Luis Perez (Cuban), Mike Dwyer (U.S.) and Edson Perito, Robert Hinz and Fernando Haddad (Brazilian), among others.
