The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Avianca airlines has suspended three flights going to Costa Rica from three different different countries: Mexico, Brazil and Chile. They will, however, be adding a new flight to New York.
Alvaro Vargas, director of Civil Aviation confirmed that the direct flight to Mexico will no longer be available starting February 1, and routes going from San Jose-Bogota-Rio de Janeiro and San Jose-Bogota-Chile will be cut for the next six months as of February 17.
Vargas also confirmed that the airline will open a route to New York with stops in El Salvador in March.
In addition, the San Jose-Guatemala-San Jose route, operated by Lacsa on an Airbus, will now be flown by AVIATECA.
The flight details for these changes have not been officially confirmed by Avianca. (ADN)
