The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – American Airlines removed its flights for sale from Despegar.com, including other websites worldwide, such as Decolar.com.

The airline’s decision was announced last Wednesday by email to its clients and through a statement on its website.

“American made this decision after discovering that Despegar.com was using an unfair and imprecise pricing policy. We strongly believe that information about prices must be presented in a complete and accurate way so that customers can make an informed decision when booking flights “, said the aviation company.

The sites affected by the decision are those of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Uruguay, USA, and Venezuela.

The airline stated that information about its flights are still available through other travel websites like Kayak.com or BestDay.com), as well as through accredited travel agencies and ticket sales offices of American.

The airline assures that those tickets already purchased through any of the websites Despegar.com for traveling on American Airlines are still valid.

Customers who wish to change tickets from American Airlines or American Eagle purchased until July 31 2013 through Despegar.com, should contact the local office of the airline. The media is still waiting for an official communication on the subject by Despegar.com.
