The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – An earthquake of 4.5 magnitude was felt southwest of Samara, Nicoya, according to the National Seismological Network (RSN).
The origin was by subduction of the Cocos plate. The quake had a depth of 17.8 miles and was recorded at 6:30 pm.
The quake was felt in the Central Valley, however, in Samara reported neighbors said that it was strong and fast. According to the RSN it also was felt in Lepanto, Jicaral and Nandayure Jocote and Playa Tambor.t
The Red Cross reported Nicoya did not sustain any injuries or damage.
