The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – An earthquake with a magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale jolted the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica with no damage reported the National Seismological Network (RSN).
The RSN of the State University of Costa Rica, said in a statement that the earthquake originated at 12.35 local time (18.35 GMT) at a depth of 21.6 miles and was caused by the subduction of the Cocos plate earth.
The quake was centered in the ocean 33 kilometers west of the coastal community of Jaco, Puntarenas province (central Pacific).
Authorities reported no affected or damage. (ACAN-EFE)
