Costa Rica Expresses Solidarity to the Philippines Following Typhoon Haiyan

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The government of Costa Rica today expressed solidarity with the Philippines and Vietnam after Typhoon Haiyan, which has left thousands dead and severely damaged the countries.

Costa Rica expressed profound sense of solidarity with the people and Government of the Philippines and Vietnam for the victims and injuries caused by Typhoon Haiyan that hit these countries and caused major devastation in a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

The Costa Rican government sent its condolences to the families of the victims and the people of the Philippines and Vietnam, and showed confidence that they will overcome the tragedy.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the firm hope that the people of the Philippines and Vietnam will be able to overcome the losses caused by the devastating typhoon, one of the most powerful that has affected this region of the world,” reported the statement.

Philippine authorities declared a state of emergency in Tacloban City in Leyte Island, about 580 kilometers southeast of Manila, where according to estimates by the provincial government the typhoon could have killed some 10,000 people, affected almost 9.7 million people and displaced 615,000.
