An earthquake of 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale struck in southern Chile, but no casualties or damage was reported.
The Chile earthquake occurred at 04:33 hours (08:33 GMT) and its epicenter located onshore, approximately 600 south-southwest of Santiago, according to the Institute Seismology at the University of Chile.
The quake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 32.7 kilometers, the agency said, while the U.S. Geological Survey determined as 9.7 kilometers below the surface and put the magnitude of the quake at 4.7 on the Richter scale.
The National Emergency Office (Onemi) said while the intensity of the tremor was grade V in the Mercalli scale.
Earlier, at 03:03 am (7:03 GMT), another earthquake of 3.9 magnitude on the Richter scale was recorded in the same area, , according to the University of Chile.
Meanwhile, another earthquake of 4.1 magnitude, occurred at 04:13 hours (8:13 GMT) with its epicenter 12 kilometers southwest of San Jose Maipo.
The quake was felt with intensity grade II in nearby, including the Chilean capital.
