    Jaco Beach Costa Rica is one of the most popular beach towns in Costa Rica, and is a major launch point for people looking to explore Central Pacific Costa Rica.

    Jaco Beach, 45 minutes south of Puntarenas and 45 minutes north of Manuel Antonio on Costa Rica’s Central Coast, and is within minutes of several other surf, and beach hot spots.

    Along with the surfers came the need for nightlife. Now, Jaco is Costa Rica’s wildest party beach, and a top destination for wave-worshippers and adventure jungle-trekkers alike.

    15 years ago was a slow paced fishing/beach town, but this last decade, Jaco has become a high growth center, with multiple major condo’s and projects springing up, making it one Costa Rica’s primary investment destinations.

    Now that the new highway has cut the drive from 2 hours to 1 hour from San Jose its growth expectations are back on the fast track.

    There’s plenty to see and do in Jaco that doesn’t involve partying with buckets of cold national beer, discos, nightclubs, and casinos. For sport fisherman, the Central Pacific is world famous for its abundance of sport fish. The beaches north and south of town such as Herradura, Hermosa and Esterillos are rated as some of the best beach destination in Central America.

    Horseback treks, canopy tours, ATV adventures and hiking through the bordering jungles are just a few of the delights that eco-tourist enjoy.

    Manuel Antonio just 45 minutes south of Jaco, is one of the most visited spots in Costa Rica, with beaches rated in the top ten in the world. The Carara Biological Reserve nine miles north, a nesting ground for scarlet macaws.

    Don’t forget to stop at the Tárcoles River (20 minutes from Jaco) and is home to the largest number of crocodile per kilometer in the world, approximately 30 beasts per kilometer, many of which can be seen from the bridge on the Costarena, Coastal Highway.

    Jaco is very tourist-friendly. Internet cafes are everywhere, as well as banks, tour operators, and restaurants serving international cuisine.
