Costa Rica Rica Earthquake Update: Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI), said this morning that after yesterday’s strong 6.6 quake, which occurred at 06:45 pm, in Nicoya Cangrejal in Guanacaste, 260 aftershocks have occurred.
They said the strongest was recorded at 07:55 pm, with a magnitude of 4.1 on the scale.
Most are in the range of 2.2 and 4.1 on the Richter magnitude scale said OVSICORI.
They added that the 6.6 quake is the largest replica of the 7.6 earthquake that occurred on 5 September in Samara, Guanacaste, and also warned that hopefully other major aftershocks in the area.
