The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The first earthquake was at 1:35 pm, 3.7 magnitude with epicenter 17 km northwest of Samara, Nicoya, and wasa strong earthquake felt mostly in the area of the quake.
A second quake of 5.5 magnitude felt at 2:00:36 and was felt through the country.
The first report of the Seismological Laboratory at the University of Costa Rica indicates that the movement was centered a location 3.0km from Nosara Nicoya. The quake originated 15 kilometers deep.
The quake was felt in several parts of the country, including the Central Valley where it is reported as “strong”.
