The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Animal Planet will premier its new series on sloths, where several of its chapters were recorded in Costa Rica. The production, called “Meet the Sloths”, is a program dedicated to show the behavior of sloths in a shelter located in the Costa Rican Caribbean.

The series is scheduled to air for the months of November and December. In addition, it will air in the UK, the rest of Europe, Australia and Japan. “Meet The Sloths” was recorded in the shelter known as “The Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica.”

“The program goes behind the scenes at one of the most peculiar animal sanctuaries in the world, revealing a surprising tale of dramatic rescue, clandestine romance and deadly rivals,” says Animal Planet on their website.

According to the program description, the refuge is home to 150 orphaned and injured sloths, which are attended by officials and volunteers.

“These extraordinary and amazing creatures have been largely neglected by film and television, but that’s all about to change,” claimed the producers of the show.

“Meet The Sloths” will air every Saturday at 8:00 pm EST from the U.S. (6:00 pm Costa Rica time). There will be a total of eight chapters dealing with this exotic species.

“Take a wild ride on a truly alien world of the sloth, it’s a moving and entertaining series,” closes the description on Animal Planet.
