The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Costa Rican company Natural Sins, dedicated to the sale of fresh fruit, was the winner of the contest IDEA organized by the U.S. State Department and the Agency for International Development.
“We are very happy, because it is the third award we won this year, this being the most important, and confirms that all the work we have done, we have done well,” said Efe Ivan Sosa , founding partner of Natural Sins.
The winning company launched its product to market in 2011, after a year of research and development, and is currently exporting to nine countries from Central America, United States, Canada and Japan.
“Our product is quite novel in that it consists of finely flaked baked fruit slices, they allows for a balanced diet for the whole fruit family, including apples, pineapple, coconut, beet, orange or mango,” said Sosa.
Natural Sins winner received $150,000 and the second and third place received $50,000 each, plus training, counseling and business workshops. (EFE)
