The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A business delegation from the Chinese province of Zhejiang is visiting Costa Rica in order to learn about the country and study its market for the possibility of businesses and investments, official sources said today.
The business delegation is headed by the Director General of Trade of Zhejiang, Zhou Rixing, who participated in a seminar on trade and investment between Costa Rica and the Asian province, said the Costa Rican Foreign Trade Ministry.
This seminar aims to educate entrepreneurs about the business potential that can exist between Costa Rica and China, especially with the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that is in effect.
According to the Costa Rican government, Zhejiang, located in the southeast coast of China, has become one of the most commercial and wealthy provinces of the country.
“This has been a great opportunity to bring Costa Rican and Chinese entrepreneurs together so they know the what they can offer each other and explore new business in the near future,” said Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Fernando Ocampo.
Chinese entrepreneurs who are participating in the seminar are devoted to sectors such as clean energy, industrial machinery and financial services.
As part of the event Zhejiang authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica signed two memorandums of understanding aimed at promoting trade and investment.
Costa Rica is the only Central American country that has diplomatic relations with China, which were established in 2007. (EFE)
