    A Composition By the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica is Latin Grammy nominee

    The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica was included in the list of nominees for the 2013 Latin Grammy Awards. The nomination corresponds to a composition on the disc Symphonic Bossa Nova, which ran in the category of best contemporary classical composition, thanks to Abertura Jobiniana composed by Rafael Piccolotto of Lima, in which the orchestra is directed by Jeremy Fox.

    Launched in early July, Symphonic Bossa Nova was recorded at the National Theatre during two performances of the orchestra on March 21 and 22.

    The album includes 13 songs with Brazilian rhythms and was played by the 73 musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica, it was mixed at Median Studio, in Miami, and mastered at Sterling Sound Studio in New York.

    In its official Facebook page, the National Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica celebrated the news with this sentence: “We did it for Costa Rica”. The award ceremony of the Latin Grammy Awards will be on November 21. LN
