The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – A new PriceSmart membership supermarket will open on Friday, October 18th. This is the sixth club in the country, and will be located in the Three Rivers Union Office Center in Carthage, Costa Rica.
According to a statement, the company invested about $ 20 million in the opening and is generating about 130 new jobs.
The store is 20,000 square meters and with its opening, the total workforce for the nation amounted to 1,200 people in Costa Rica.
PriceSmart, Inc. is the largest operator of membership shopping clubs in Latin America, South America, and the Caribbean.
It was developed by Sol and Robert Price in San Diego, California, in 1976, and today serves more than one million members in 30 clubs over 12 countries: Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Aruba, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Virgin Islands.
