Early detection of breast cancer continues to be one of the most effective tools for saving lives.
With this goal in mind, the Ya es Hora initiative, promoted by a business alliance, announced the official opening of registration for its 2026 edition.
This year, the program plans to perform more than 5,000 mammograms in different communities across the country.
The launch of the new cycle follows the results achieved between 2024 and 2025, a period in which Ya es Hora consolidated its impact on women’s health.
During that time, the project performed 7,205 mammograms, 778 ultrasounds, and 72 biopsies.
These actions enabled the detection and timely treatment of 23 cases of breast cancer.
The results reaffirm the importance of bringing early diagnosis to more women throughout the country.
Beyond the figures, Ya es Hora has positioned itself as a comprehensive initiative for detection, medical follow-up, and timely access to specialized services.
The program especially benefits women who face geographical, economic, or informational barriers to undergoing these health checks.
“Each mammogram represents an opportunity for early detection and peace of mind for a woman and her family,” said Mónica Nagel.
The director of Corporate Affairs at Grupo Montecristo added that the results confirm that access has a real impact.
“That is why, in 2026, we will continue to strengthen this effort to reach more women and continue saving lives,” she said.
This year, the program will maintain its focus on early detection, health education, and timely medical care.
These pillars seek to reduce the impact of breast cancer in Costa Rica.
Women interested in participating in Ya es Hora 2026 can begin the registration process using this form.
Spaces are limited and will be assigned based on availability and established medical criteria.
With this new edition, Grupo Montecristo reaffirms its long-term commitment to women’s health and overall well-being.
The initiative consolidates a sustainable model that transforms data into diagnoses and diagnoses into life opportunities.
