TEDx will be returning to Costa Rica next year with even more ideas worth spreading.
In the words of former U.S. Congressman Ron Paul:
Ideas are very important to the shaping of society. In fact, they are more powerful than bombings or armies or guns, and this is because ideas are capable of spreading without limit… With ideas, we can make real change that lasts.
TED is a non-profit organization that is intrinsically aware of the power ideas have. Their events are devoted to spreading good ideas all around the world by setting the stage for short talks from successful and creative people.
Alternatively, TEDx has become an opportunity for locations to host a TED-style event with a local representative speaking on topics most relevant to those in attendance. For the sixth year in a row, Costa Rica will have its own TEDx event.
The Line-up
TEDxPuraVida 2016 has a stellar line-up with both national and international speakers presenting on a very diverse array of knowledge.
Included in those presenting is the futuristic writer and businessman Juan Enríquez. Among Enríquez’s accomplishments are the Life Sciences Project at the Harvard School of Business which he founded, Excel Medical Ventures and Biotechonomy which he has directed, and as well as numerous awards and publications. He will be sharing extensive knowledge on bioeconomy, science, and its impact on society. This is a talk you won’t want to miss.
Other presenters are Guillermo Cecchi, a physicist, mathematician, neurobiologist and psychologist; Camelia Ilie-Cardoza, a leadership professor who is deeply interested in the development of women; and Pilar Cisneros, the renowned Peruvian-Costa Rican journalist who firmly believes in the power of one to save the planet. This list will continue to grow as the event date approaches. After all, TEDxPuraVida has historically had more than 20 presentations, all with great ideas to share.
