The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The first metro in Central America with trains manufactured by the french company Alston will be in full operation by the end of 2013. It will be ready to operate by the end of this year in Panama, according to the president Ricardo Martineli, who took a 2km trial trip in Panama City accompanied by two government officials.

The government’s objective is to build several lines for the metro to help in dealing with chaotic heavy traffic in the capital as well as connecting the city with other areas.

Around one million people will use this new means of transport.
