The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – The authorities in Costa Rica found a newborn baby alive among the trash bags curbside in the community of Leo XIII, in the north of San Jose.

Relieved officials told local media that the newborn, whose gender was not revealed, was found after a call from a woman who spotted him at the scene.  The baby was taken in critical condition to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital (HNN).

This is the second case of this type that has occured in Costa Rica in just over a month when on September 3rd a newborn girl was found alive in a dumpster in the town of Tibás, north of San José. Two women who heard the crying of the child took her to a nearby fire station, where she was then moved to HNN in stable condition.  (EFE)
