On March 21, CAMTIC launched an innovative free application (app) that will spread the news about the technology sector in Costa Rica around the world.
The application will allow Apple mobile device users to download and comment on news that CAMTIC published in its newsletter, called Click and their blog (www.camtic.org/click). This means allowing access to headlines and summaries of each story, as well as the complete publication, and the ability to comment on each item.
The application was created for mobile devices iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and can be downloaded free from the Apple iTunes Store or through the Apple Store.
To CAMTIC, this represents another opportunity to reach audiences in a versatile way through new devices.
Costa Rican talent
The Costa Rican company, Aplicativa, led development of the app in collaboration with InterGraphicDESIGNS, who were responsible for the creative design of this new application. For its part, the CAMTIC team was in charge the conceptualization of the technological tool.
“This joint development allowed each person to contribute their particular knowledge and expertise in order to give life to a pioneering application between entrepreneurs in Latin America. We hope this tool will be an inspiration to other sectors and institutions who will follow this initiative and exploit the advantages and benefits of these technological tools to boost their businesses and activities,” said Otto Rivera, Executive Director of CAMTIC.
Apple Certified
Aplicativa and InterGraphicDESIGNS developed the application based on the requirements set by CAMTIC. Then, the app went through a strict certification process with Apple, which included performance testing and review of Apple’s distribution policies and content, among others. Once Apple gave its approval, the application was released for download through the iTunes Store.
“This app is available for download from various Apple stores around the world and even hours after its publication, has already been downloaded by users in the U.S. and Europe – this was even before its official release on March 21” said Marco Astúa, Executive Director of Aplicativa.
The increasing number of Apple devices shows that companies increasingly use these applications to grow their business.
“There is speculation that only during the first weekend on the market, Apple sold over a million of their iPad tablet 2. Companies and organizations should look at this trend as a clear opportunity to develop such applications and thus support their marketing objectives and customer service, which are among many of its possible uses, “said Ricardo Arce, Project Manager of InterGraphicDESIGNS.
