The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – As a followup to Saturday’s 6.0 earthquake, residents in the Southern Pacific near the Panama and Costa Rica border received a second round of tremors this morning at 2:54 am, which registered between 6.6 and 6.8 on the Richter scale.
In Costa Rica, heavy shaking was reported in areas like Golfito, Ciudad Neily, and Pavones while only mild quaking was reported in Perez Zeledon and some of the outer San Jose towns.
The quake’s epicenter struck 20 km (about 12 miles) just off the coast of Punta de Burica, Panama, which is close to Costa Rica’s southern border. Thankfully, no injuries or severe damage have been reported.
