Spectators Camped Out Overnight to Get Premier Spots for Tonight’s Festival of Light

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Marta Jimenez is a resident of the Pitahaya neighborhood in San José whose family has attended the Festival of Light for the last three years and are one of the dozens of people camping out along the festival route to get the best space possible.

Jiménez, Eloisa Montoya, Xochilt Flores and Eduard Valveder concurred that it’s worth the wait, regardless of the cold and rain that accompanied them overnight.

They said that the sacrifice is primarily for their children, who are incredibly excited to see the floats up close as they pass through the streets of Paseo Colón and Avenida Segunda.

The nineteenth edition of the Festival of Light will take place this December 13th from 6 pm until 9 pm. (Amelia Rueda)
